Draw a rough structure of what I want to ask 5 people - each person one sense:
Sight, sound, smell, touch and taste:
Taste - Edible paper with the taste of orange apple ginger.
Smell - damp/orange blossom/cinnamon/laundry detergent
Sight - photos of the beach separately/I try
Sound - sound of the beach/the song I try
Touch -
Multi - dried leaves
Smell - Intervention with P - we talked about the smell in her flat that was related to the hardship she was experiencing this year. We went throughout her year and her ability to understand her pain, what went wrong, how she feels toward her family (husband, child, mum) and how does she feel about herself in perspective to the scent she experienced.
How to communicate the senses.
Constructing identity
What are my key elements in my work:
Women - Israeli women
hardship
senses
I should create a book of senses - each sense should have one page, where I can describe my idea of the interaction with the sense, how I test it, what it appeared in the intervention.
I need to liberate to share more stories
give access to the senses
channelling the senses - separating them and not as a multi-sensory but one sense at the time, alone.
in-modality
prioritizing - focus on the stories and not just the senses
Design this part of my project as the preserving the lost voices, preserve the stories.
find the hidden, lost, censored, find a creative vehicle to preserve these stories.
who can hear the preserved stories?
My work should be my quilt + my book + my presentation where I tell my story, my research, my path, share my process on how I retrieved the stories and preserved them.
Find a ready platform to display my work:
approach organizations, Israeli embassy, JW3, Jewish organization, Jewish/UK art-related organization.
