Elderflower - Interview with L
I remember the first time I tasted elderflower. I was 12 years old and went to a Bat mitzva in Madam Tussaud. It was a very formal and fancy event of a very wealthy family.
I tasted an elderflower sorbet and it blew my mind.
I felt it completely revolutionalized my taste, and I need a new compartment for this flavour, something expanse. I took me to a new level, it was an overwhelming event and accommodate and expend the taste even more. The taste was very liberating in this specific occasion, it really transported me, I don't drink it very often but I used to order it when I went out with friends while I was pregnant, it was comforting to drink it instead of alcohol.
Since then, every time I taste elderflower I feel a piece of remaining of the first time.
Raspberries syrup
Another taste I remember is raspberries juice my grandfather used to make me in Israel.
I called is "Petel deluxe". Petel is the Hebrew word for raspberry. I remember the taste of it, it was the best drink and it was made with a lot of love. I miss my grandfather very much, we had a very good relationship. He passed away. Every time I drink raspberry juice it reminds
me of him and I cry.
Another memory I have from him is that he used to hide the afikoman (a Jewish Passover tradition) and tell me where it is, so I can find it and get a reward.
I also remember he taught me how to waltz. I used to stand on his feet when I was a child and he moved me to the rhythm, and that's how I learned to dance.
